The Head of IT operates as the primary point of contact for the senior managers within the company to shape and deliver projects that are part of the annual project portfolio. These projects will create value, either internally by increasing productivity and efficiency, or externally by providing enhanced digital products and services for customers. The role also oversees the delivery of IT services and support coming from the Group Information Technology function.
The role has 4 broad focus areas:
Performance improvement
Create value for by:

  • Driving continuous change and innovation
  • Identifying, prioritising and implementing performance improvement opportunities
  • Maintaining a rolling list of business improvement opportunities
  • Translating ideas into more detailed value propositions and quantifying the 'value at stake' (establishing what steps need to be taken, what work is involved, how much business change is required in order to progress the opportunities to implementation stage etc)


Programme planning and implementation

  • Planning the work to be done (activities, resources) to realise the targeted business benefit
  • driving the design, integration and implementation of ERP system together with Division functional team and Group IT. This is an international implementation programmes that span business functions and geographies, including allocation of funds and resources. Involves process, technology and organisational change


Stakeholder management

  • adopting a number of different roles depending on the circumstance (requires professional breadth): Programme Manager, Business Process Modeller, Project Leader, Project Team Member, Specialist Consultant, Community of Practice Leader, Coach, Facilitator, Trainer
  • aligning group, divisional and technology strategies
  • managing interactions with stakeholders throughout the company's a professional network (including globally and cross-divisionally)
  • agreeing what improvements opportunities should be taken forward to implementation stage
  • communicating concisely with stakeholders to gain buy-in and funding approval
  • tracking the benefits being delivered using process performance metrics to demonstrate what has changed
  • connecting subject matter experts within the company (e.g. Communities of Practice) and sharing knowledge/experience to optimise the value delivered
  • contributing to the strategic planning process and setting of the annual operational plan (Functions including IT) by creating investment roadmaps
  • managing quality assurance by representing IT on the steering groups of key programmes


Service management
IT support and infrastructure services for both software and hardware are provided by the Group Technology function. This role will ensure that the priorities of the Filters business are attended to in a timely manner and ensure escalations are channelled to the teams responsible for service delivery.

Qualifications

  • 12-15 Years of experience in managing an international, multi-site team
  • Extensive knowledge of packaged ERP systems, specifically finance and supply chain and management information solutions (Infor and Microsoft good to have)
  • Experience of working in international, matrix managed organisations and have experience of leading or participating in departmental and/or organisation-wide transformation and improvement programmes
  • Comfortable working on several projects concurrently within tight timeframe
  • Operated within an international corporate information technology function
  • Experience in end to end IT service management and project delivery lifecycles
  • Previous budget management responsibility of $10m+ (either project or department)
  • Solid understanding of the information technology industry and how technology can drive productivity and performance improvement
  • Vendor management capability
  • Extensive project and programme management skills
  • Experience in developing project roadmaps in 1 year and 3 year cycles
  • Track record of working and with senior teams from all functions and departments
  • Evidence of impactful presentation and communication skills
