Data Engineer

Experienced data wrangler or data enthusiast who enjoys optimizing data systems and solving problems through data, with extensive technical expertise in big data technology, data ingestion pipeline and data modeling.
Responsible for designing and managing data warehouse plans for a product or business line, designing, building and maintaining the batch or real time data pipeline in production using cloud, big data technology and working with the business team on transforming the raw data into actionable data mart.
Set up data infrastructure, data pipelines, integrate source system data with data lakes and data mining models into data pipelines.
Design, build, support and optimize new and existing data models and ETL/ELT processes, including the ETL/ELT from source system to data lake and those within the data lake.

Develop and support the data pipeline to integrate data from new data sources with emerging data technologies.
Automate data collection and processing for analytical modelling input
programming proficiency using 1 or 2 of the following: Scala, Python, Java
Good knowledge in data structures and SQL.
Data modelling using different schema patterns such as Star/Snowflake/DataVault in Data Warehouse or Data Mining
Experience in designing and building robust and highly scalable data platform and data pipelines, and dashboard development
Define and manage SLAs-KPIs, data quality for all data sets in allocated areas of ownership.
Maintain and optimize the performance of data analytics infrastructure to ensure accurate, reliable and timely delivery of key insights for decision making.
Implement provisions and best practices to validate and record performance and data latency metrics.
Produce detailed technical design document to match the solution design specifications and development process.
Understand competitive s of various data technology alternatives.
Bachelor Degree of Computer Science, IT or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years experience of IT/data project experience with hands-on data project solutions. Expert in data modelling, data security, big data management, data quality, data warehouse, business intelligence/analytics, ETL/ELT, master data management, metadata management, data cataloguing etc.
At least 1 year experience with public, private/hybrid cloud technologies in implementing cloudnative or hybrid data solutions. Experience with Azure cloud data services would be preferable.
Experience in implementing enterprise data warehouse, data lake and lakehouse solutions preferably with public cloud or hybrid cloud solutions.
in conceptual, logical, object, and relational data modelling.
Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
Experienced in working in a DevOps environment and familiar with DevOps tools and platforms, also experience in implementing solutions with deployments involving zero down-time.
Experience in troubleshooting, identifying and tuning performance for different data related solutions, also experience in implement security best practices for data related solutions.
Experience in handling large data volumes, streaming data and huge databases.
Experience in using NoSQL databases will be an .Experience working with different data analytics and business intelligence products like Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, QlikSense, IBM Cognos, SAP Business Objects, SAS Visual Analytics, Oracle BI, Sisense
Preferably holding professional certifications in one or more areas not limited to BI, analytics ETL/ELT, Big Data, Data warehousing, Data Architecture, public cloud etc.
Perform proof-of-concepts (POC) to prove out solutions and establish a core codebase ready for implementation.
Demonstrate critical thinking, team player, good interpersonal skills, ability to work individually or in a team and with other divisions, and presentation skills.
Demonstrate proficiency to stay up to date on emerging technologies, possess passion and ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly. Innovative mindset and passion in digital technology is required.
