Product Specialist (Semiconductor)
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain an advanced technical understanding of all soft solder die bonder products and applications
- Do and analyse process trials for/with customers and partners (e.g. material suppliers); support strategic evaluations, bench marks, demos and buy offs
- Advise field service and customers (mainly via field service), acting as 2nd level of support
- Coordinate all activities related to technical issues for potential and existing customers assigned; participate in customers' engineering meetings, follow up on actions (keep issue lists); support ramp up and stabilization of newly introduced products
- Answer detailed technical questions from sales, CPM, service personnel and customers; support CPMs in requirements analysis for CSRs
- Collaborate with R&D in defining new features and CIP requirements; both software and hardware
- Participation in the development of new or the extension of existing hardware and software modules according to current or future customer requirements (analysis, modelling, calculation, measurement, qualification)
- Carry out internal acceptance test of new features and CIP developed by R&D
- Ensure continuous improvement of product performance through systematic feedback; identify quality issues und initiate improvements
- Coordinate software issues; help in reproducing issues to SW R&D; verify solutions in the new releases
- Conduct DB product / application training to internal people as well as to customers
- Support application group in Besi APac in qualifying machines for shipment
- Able to travel extensively to customer sites in Asia
Job Requirements:
- Technical background (BSc / MSc Engineering Sciences)
- Knowledge of semiconductor industry
- Working experience in soft solder die bonding technical service / customer support
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronics, mechatronics systems
- Hands on experience with automatic, high speed complex equipment
- Experience in product management
- Able to read and interpret technical and engineering documents
- Understanding of precision mechanics and complex systems (controlled axes, vision)
- Ability to understand processes with a high number of interlaced factors of influence (material sciences, mechanics, process parameters)
- Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills
- IT application knowledge (MS Office, E-Mail, communication)
- Customer orientation
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in an international environment
- Team player with ability to foster good working relationships both internally and with customers
- Good communication skills
