The purpose of the (role) is to:

  • Ensure compliance with privacy regulation in the region and with extraterritorial privacy regulations that affect the region
  • Work with business, legal, and IT stakeholders and with external supervisory authorities
  • Steer the DPOs and privacy managers in the countries of the region


Job Details:

  • As Regional DPO and, you will be involved, properly and in a timely manner, in all issues relating to our protection of personal data and you will in particular:
  • Inform and advise the Company and our personnel of our obligations to comply with data protection regulations in APME, especially GPDR, and other applicable data protection laws, including laws with extraterritorial scope;
  • Monitor and audit the Company's compliance with the Law and with any other applicable policies in relation to the protection of personal data, including the assignment of responsibilities, awareness-raising and conducting internal audits;
  • Support and work with Global functions in the roll out of ManpowerGroup wide training on data privacy and related information security programs;
  • Advise on data protection impact assessments when required under the current and upcoming laws; Draft those DPIAs together with the business;
  • Keep up to date the Company's record of processing;
  • Keep up to date your expert knowledge of GDPR, and other upcoming privacy regulations, including guidance issued by supervisory authorities and relevant legal decisions that may impact our processing of personal data;
  • Provide an annual report for regional leadership;
  • Establish regional privacy governance boards.

    Gaining Exposure
  • Work and cooperate with the designated supervisory authority and serve as the contact point for the supervisory authority on issues relating to the processing of personal data;
  • Be available to respond to enquiries from PII Principals on issues relating to the Company's data protection practices and the PII Principals' rights as set out under Law, including, but not limited to the withdrawal of consent, the right to be forgotten, and related rights;
  • To liaise with Global and regional leadership in relation to compliance with Law, to review Global policies, and to assist in the developing and monitoring of local procedures to implement those policies including for example for personal data breach handling. You shall be available as a first point of contact to assist with responding to any personal data breaches, and you shall include assessing whether the data breach must be notified to supervisory authorities and/or data subjects;

  • Need to navigate within the global, diverse, matrixed nature of our organization
    Your Typical Day
  • Mainly office work, 80% or more in telcos and other kind of meetings
  • You use mainly Microsoft Office and ManpowerGroup's PrivacyTech solution OneTrust. Further tools might be added to your toolkit in the future.
  • Travel is sometimes required, but not more than six times per annum within the APME region. There might be one intercontinental business trip per annum.
    Success Measures
    1. Ensure GPDR compliance and the timely completion of the privacy compliance programs.
    2. Increase the maturity of the APME organization in regards or privacy to an adequate level.
    3. Have at least 90% of the ROPAs updated and reviewed on a yearly basis.
    Critical Experiences Required
  • 4 to 6 years of demonstrated experience in Privacy, Information Security, Risk or Control & Compliance, Program / Project Management.
  • Interpersonal and collaborative skills; and the ability to communicate privacy and risk-related concepts to management, technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Aptitude, detail orientation, take accountability and ensure the business trust is established as well as ability to clearly distinguish technology and business needs in the privacy arena.
  • Must be a critical thinker with problem-solving skills.
  • High level of personal integrity, and the ability to professionally handle confidential matters and demonstrate appropriate level of judgment and maturity.
  • High degree of initiative, dependability and ability to work with little to no supervision.
  • Flexible and adaptable and capable of changing direction where required and showing flexibility to meet new demands.
  • Able to form business partnerships that help drive the privacy strategy forward.
  • Ability to operate in diverse environments and cultures.
  • Collaborative, can-do attitude, ownership minded, analytical and execution capability.
  • Bachelor's Degree in law, computer science, business administration or a privacy-related field or Master Degree
    Nice to Have
  • Certified as IAPP CIPP/A, 'CIPP/E, or equivalent
